Comment: I too find it amazing that it has been 40 years since we graduated. -- A life time ago. Thank you to the reunion committee for all your hard work!
What have you been up to?: I've been enjoying summers at our island home on Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire, I'm in the C-U area during tax time and the rest of the year I am at our home outside of New York City. In September, Janet, my partner of 12 years, and I eloped in the White Mountains (NH)!
Hobbies or special talents?: I am learning the constellations during the summer months, not as easy as I thought. I'm actively studying mycology, to help me identify the mushrooms I love pick and eat. A lot of my time is spent kayaking around the 200+ islands on the lake or hiking in the surrounding mountains. And I'm still trying to learn to play the banjo, but somehow I am not very good at practicing!

Comment: Thanks so much to the committee for doing all the work to make this reunion happen. It will be so fun to see everyone again. It just does not seem like it was 50 years ago!!
What have you been up to?: My husband and I will celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary this year -- it has been a great adventure. We are not retired yet, but we do spend fewer hours per week on business these days. We love to travel and have been lucky enough to go to lots of places together. Our three children are grown and live around the country, so we also travel to visit them as well.
Hobbies or special talents?: Well, I pretty much still love to do the same things I loved to do back at Urbana High! Travel, read, sew, cook, swim, dance -- repeat.

Comment: I just want to say "Thank You!" to the reunion committee for all of the hard work!  Hopefully, I'll be able to make this reunion!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for NO kidney stones or other health issues this time! NOTE: I'm a stroke and multiple TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack (mini-stroke)) survivor. (I'm blessed to only have incurred a pins and needles feeling in my right arm and leg, and right upper and lower lip on my face.) If I require medical attention while attending any of the events, please let the paramedics know this. :-)
What have you been up to?: Enjoying life! After leaving Illinois in 1979, I lived in Texas ('79-'80), Southern California ('80-'07), and currently live in Arizona. I finally found someone to marry me in 2006 (we have been friends since 1982) and have a step-daughter and now two grand-kids. Played softball for 33 years (City Leagues and Regional Tournaments throughout Southern California and a few seasons in Arizona.) For 6 of those years (18 seasons), I also coached and managed Men's, Women's, and Co-Ed teams to numerous League Championships. Have been mountain biking since 1995 (30 years) in Arizona, California, Utah, and Illinois (Kickapoo!). Best racing finishes were 4th place (Mt. SAC race) and 6th place (Big Bear Fall Classic (in the snow)), per my age bracket in the Amateur classification. Worst race finishes include one DNF (Did Not Finish) due to a foot injury during the third lap of a 12-hour race, and an embarrassing 83rd at another race. What a humbling experience; that was a long drive home! Some days you have it, and that day I had nothing in the tank! :-)

Currently??? Still mountain biking almost every Saturday and Sunday, but not quite as fast as I used to be. Hanging out with my wife, the grand-kids (14 and 11 yrs. old), and our two dogs, Bailey and Zoey (Siberian Huskies, but my wife calls them Sonoran Desert Huskies because they lay outside in 115 degree sunshine). I just retired at the end of 2024 and haven't had much time to figure out what I'm going to do in retirement. Would like to travel the country and ride as many mountain biking trails as I can, before I can't! LOL! I did just start playing Pickleball, which is fun! Looking for a hobby if anyone has any suggestions.
Hobbies or special talents?: Mountain Biking and beginner Pickleballer! Alternative Medicine.
